I use: Windows XP 32-bit
I use: Avast Antivirus, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Zone Alarm.

I tried to do a synchronization backup on my two external storage drives.

It appeared to backup all of the files and folders I specified, but afterward, this backup wasn't listed under the history as occuring.  Like with the previous version of Comodo Backup, the log is a bunch of unreadable characters.  When I choose the "schedule option," my synchronized backup can only be deleted.  The "Run now" and "edit" buttons are light gray and unable to be clicked on.

Is not being able to choose the "edit" and "run now" options on a synchronized backup normal?  I don't know, since I am new to using Comodo.

File system is NTFS.

Diagnose was ran and confirmed a successful installation of the program.

I try to do a whole disk backup or just a files and folders backup to an external USB hard drive (E:/NTFS). But I cannot get past the first couple of steps.

I created a folder in my external drive called 'Comodo Test' to hold the backup files, but whenever I try to do a backup job, I get the error message 'Invalid file name' and I cannot go past Stage 3. (see screenshot).

I had the same problem with the previous version, so I uninstalled that and installed this latest version. But the problem is the same. What's going on?

If the backup format is 'Simple Copy' then this error message does not appear and I can copy normally. It is only when 'CBU file' is selected that this error occurs. But I want to copy in the CBU format, not just the Simple Copy format.

Using: Vista 32-bit, SP1.
Avast Antivirus Free.
Comodo diagnostics: installation is verfied.
Log file enabled, but not present in Comodo folder.
Other backup software: Macrium Reflect Free, Cobian Backup, Areca Backup.

Hi anh

Welcome to the forum

You need to put a name after the folder that comes up under destination (in your case E:\Comodo Test\<name of your choice>).  Once you put in the name of your choice it should work well for you.

Ah, thank you. It works now. I have some other questions about backup types (full, incremental, diifferential) because I am not sure how Comodo Backup handles those, but I will put that message in another board.

Hi

Can you go to Windows Task Scheduler in Control Panel and add a scheduled task?

Is your Windows Task Scheduler service disabled?

Thanks

Major Bug:
Scheduling a backup fails on WinXP with error:
An error occurred while setting the schedule. The schedule has not been set.

- Windows XP Pro SP3, x32.
- CIS
- Create a backup with a schedule in it, non of the options is successful.
- N/A
- Attached
- N/A
- NTFS
- Does not contain anything regarding this failure.
- This error happens on all COMODO BackUp 2... versions. COMODO BackUp v.1.0.4.337 works correctly.

When installing this version, rec'd message that the Synchronization 'something' was running. So I uninstalled the old version first, but I rec'd the same message when installing. Sorry, didn't get the exact name of the running program or process.

Hi

The file "Diagnose Report.txt" contains some details regarding diagnostics.
What does it says?
Can you go to Control Panel and manually add a scheduled task?

Thanks

Yes i can create a scheduled task and it runs fine.
No the WTS is not disabled.

I do run a normal/limited user account with UAC enabled maybe that causes issues?

- Win 7 Pro - 64 bit
- Comodo Firewall / Defense+, AVG Anti-Virus (latest one)
- Hooking up my iPod and then when iTunes starts to sync, a few minutes in, the system BSOD's. I can also get they system to BSOD if I quit iTunes as it's syncing (be it 2 seconds after it starts or 2 minutes after it starts.
- UNINSTALLED COMODO BACKUP and it all worked perfectly.
- No screen shots (BSOD, remember?) but the offending program was CBUFS.SYS

I'm assuming the problem has to do with Comodo Backup and the iPod file system or Comodo Backup is trying to access the iPod in some unkosher manner. Guess I'll stick to Win 7 Pro's backup feature until you guys can fix this program.

[...] the offending program was CBUFS.SYS [...]

Do you have any memory dumps?
Please post them.
You can find them in "C:\Windows\Minidump"

Thanks
