G'day Comodo,

Awesome to see you working on another great product.  Still in the early stages though ;-)

FTP schedule plain out broken.
The only way I'm able to backup to ftp is by doing 1 manual upload with a .cbu file.

OS: WIN XP Pro SP3
Firewall/AntiVir: Comodo
Replication: Try to schedule a backup to an ftp server.  For me it breaks every time no matter how I mix up the settings. Common error code 53 but have had others.
When FTP backup did work: When I didn't schedule it, ie Manual backup only to my ftp server.

Also it appears that the "copy" option doesn't work, but the ".cbu" option seems to be ok for ftp.

Looking forward to the updates.

Thanks,
=-)

As soon as I clicked "Next", CBU threw a messagebox saying "Invalid destination..."

This happens because you must type in a name for the backup, after selecting the desired folder.

 Thumb Down
This version is not as user friendly as previous version.  I do not like the wizard interface at all.  Where are the configuration settings?  Enable log and password is all I see.  I used version 1.0.4.337 in sync mode to a NAS.  It worked great.  I did not hesitate to upgrade because I though as good as 1.0.4.337 version 2 would have the same functionality as before.  Boy was I wrong.  I am not trying to bash Comodo,  I think they have some great free products but this one definitely needs some work. Going back to 1.0.4.337 for now.

I have one partition (c:\) on the only 120GB drive. So Windows system files/folders are on same directory tree as my data.

On step1 i choose "Files and Folders" -> c:\ -> uncheck some files/folders, including folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Документы\ which contains files and sub-folders.
On step2 i choose exclusion masks shown on screenshot #1, cbu backup format (with encryption).

On backup run i get following: screenshot #2  ....Why CB processes files/folders which were unchecked on step1 ?

update:
I tried the other way: checked whole c:\ partition on step1, activated exclusions on step2 and added C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Документы to exclusion list. Result is same (screenshot #2) !
Also tried to include quotes to path on exclusion list like this: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Документы". Result is same.

Suddenly all my scheduled (in "Schedule" tab) backups dissapeared. Sad
I have found this bug when I realised that no backups have been made today (as it were scheduled)...

Hi

Did you delete any files from "Comodo Backup" folder?
Did dis ever happened with previous versions of CB 2.0?

Just installed on windows 7. I want to backup to my nas, which is mounted under a drive letter.

If I choose "My computer" in comodo It wont show the mounted drive. If I choose network, I can browse my nas, create a folder, but when I click next comodo says "invalid path" and I cant continue !?

update: it wants a filename, which is weird as I selected simple copy. I went through with it and it creates a cbu file.

Why was the option to select Mapped Drives or shortcuts from My network places removed? I need to backup to an Admin Share on a Server but I can't since Comodo will only see normal shares and shared printers (how and why would you backup to a shared printer?) with the previous version of comodo backup (1.X) I had a scheduled backup running with only a selection of folders/files from my documents and settings folder and my documents folder, but know the option to backup without recurring in to folders is no longer there (or in a different manner I can't locate), also If I try to go in to Network to backup It's takes forever because I'm on a Corporate network with a huge amount of computers on it, so it's not time effective to try and list all of them, and still it would be much easier if I could just use my mapped drives, oh and because of so much computers on my network CBU froze and I could not close it even with task manager. I would prefer the previous method of selecting what to backup and where to backup. Backup to and from network on this version simply does not work as well as on the older version.  Cry

Please help us who backup from and to network shares including admin shares.
Thank You.

Edit: Forgot to inlcude the standard info:

- Your Operating System: Windows XP SP2 32Bit
- Other Backup & Security Software Installed: None
- How you produced the problem: Trying to backup to a corporate network looking for a admin share
- How you tried to resolve the problem: Couldn't do anything not even close CBU.exe, had to shutdown
- Screen-shots with the error (if any): None, unless you want to see a forzen cbu looking for computers
- Post Memory Dumps on crash if you encounter any: None
- All log files: No log file
- Any other Additional Information: working on a huge corporate network that listing all the computers would take a lot of time and I can't use any shortcuts like My network places or mapped network drives.

Did you select 'simple copy' and it created a .cbu file?
Can you reproduce the issue?

Thank you

I hope the function for running the backup as a background service without logon first the most importand issue to me. Thx for the dev team, waiting you next update release.

- Your Operating System (and whether it's 32bit/64bit);
Windows Vista HP 32Bit
- Other Backup & Security Software Installed;
Norton 360 Back-Up Disabled
- How you produced the problem;
Install CBU and do a whole system back up to another hard disk on the network. Then when browsing the internet if I play audio or video at any point the computer slows to a crawl.
- How you tried to resolve the problem;
Removed CBU
- Screen-shots with the error (if any);
- Post Memory Dumps on crash if you encounter any;
- All log files;
- Any other Additional Information;
