Have to say the Google search is by far the best. Bing is just like the old commercials with search overload being avoided.    I misspelled a word was checking it in IE. Bing gave me a whole page on the foreign word I spelled. No option of the correct English word.  Ended up typing Google into Bing to get to a search engine that works.  Any off topic and Bing has no change of finding it.
Hmm...are you familiar with StartPage.com, Qrobe.it, or Scroogle.org?
You can still search Google but without them observing you much.

I've been using DDGo from some time now, what irritates more about google is the search localization (something i can configure on DDGo)

Your product information page for Dragon really does you a disservice. It is too general, and offers little in the way of compelling specifics. You would have a LOT more users if you provided some meaningful information.

For example, you say: "Has privacy enhancements that surpass those in Chromium's technology." Well, that really isn't saying anything at all. In fact, it says nothing. How about some actual details?

Let me help you out.

*THE* #1 reason most people would use dragon is this: they want everything chrome has to offer WITHOUT being tracked or logged by anyone, and especially by Google. It's that privacy thing.

That said, you need to give some meaningful specifics about it's functions, and you also need to:

1. Make it abundantly clear that there is no tracking of usage by, or communication back to Comodo (if that is the case), and...

2. There are no google hooks that still allow google to track users, as might be the case with google's own chrome release.

If you want to present a simplified, abbreviated feature list, fine...but add a (MORE) indicator and give AMPLE concrete specifics about why people should use your product. Those privacy details are important.

It's nice that it's free, but so are browser toolbars, etc., so people still need some reassurance.

To get back to the orginal subject of this thread, I completely agree with windowsuser. Take a look at how SRWare explains the features of their Iron browser: http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_chrome_vs_iron.php They do a much better job of providing details about Iron than Comodo does about Dragon.

  • Very easy to install or uninstall extensions
  • Option for opening in Incognito mode
  • Opens PDF's and plays videos on YouTube without needing to install extensions for them

Why do I use it?
Option to delete data when I close the browser.

Why not to use it?
For some reason it eats more RAM than Iron, but less than CoolNovo(ChromePlus).

That means we do not need to download and install plugin or extension to play YouTube videos or view PDF's in the browser.

As I said, Comodo Dragon lets us set the option to OPEN the browser in Incognito mode.  Firefox and Internet Explorer open only in regular mode and user  must choose a command to change to InPrivate or Private browsing.

In Firefox, if you select "Never remember history," it actually acts like Private Browsing, since the option is grayed-out. That is optional, for other chromium browsers, you have to put a command-line key to the shortcut.

I know what you mean but your statement is incorrect. you do have to have flash player and some kind of pdf plugin installed to view pdf's and watch YouTube videos in the browser. if you're watching YouTube without a plugin like flash installed then you are using the html5 version of YouTube which most popular browsers support

How does this happen?  In Internet Explorer and Firefox, we can look at our installed plugins and extensions in "add-on" manager and see what is installed or which are fit to the browser and if we do not have it, we install or download and install it.  In Comodo Dragon and Google Chrome, when we check in Extensions, we see no plugin or extension for PDF or flash player and we do not install any for CD or ggl Chrome; so how C D uses what we had already on our computer is unclear.  C D does not show this information (or it does not show this information unless someone knows a clever way to find it in C D).  We also have a way in Firefox to check for needed updates to Flash Player, a separate install even if we already have Flash Player, so this makes things confusing.

Even further, every several days, upon Windows startup, if we have adobe Flash Player installed, we find a dialog informing us of an available update for Adobe Flash Player.  Never any longer know which it is for - Is it for I. E. or is it now both for I. E. and Firefox?  Does Comodo Dragon also know when the updated version is installed and to use the updated version?  Then whose is it using?  The one for Firefox or the one for Internet Explorer.

All I know is that we don't have to mess with installing these for Comodo Dragon; maybe it already knows which extensions are on the machine and to use them.  I guess that is what you are saying.

Hi string_game,
CD uses Plug-ins the same as FF, IE uses ActiveX.

To see installed Plug-ins,
Menu, settings, Show Advanced Settings, Privacy, Content Settings, Plug-ins.
Or simply type dragon://plugins/ into the address bar and hit enter.
