I was wondering if it's a big deal that comodo doesn't load up first on startup. I used a firewall before that always loaded first. I wonder why there isn't some kind of manager for that in windows. I assume it's important for the firewall to load first especially considering many people have "always on" internet. Thanks.

The firewall loads from the time you boot the computer - these are the drivers & services that make the core of the firewall.  The only thing that is left to load when you log in to Windows is the user-end (ie, the GUI; systray icon) of it.  You may not be able to interact with the FW until the icon shows in the systray, but the firewall itself is actually active and protecting the computer.

Not sure exactly what you mean...  If you're looking for a webfilter/content-blocker, this is not it.  However, you can still block downloads, by specifying a download destination in your browser.  Then in CFP's Protected Files (Defense +) you can list that filepath; also include the default "temp" filepath.  Then if something tries to download to those files/folders, you will receive an alert from CFP that your protected files are going to be modified.  You may end up crashing your browser with this method, though, as the download will continue to try to occur, with the temp filename changing each time, thus generating a new popup.

Hope that helps,

LM

There are no official statments in regards t that,  to me it seems to be performing fairly well.  I half hope to see 1 more Beta to get all everthing fine tuned before the RC

Per the poll by IceAgel89 (results attached) I don't think it is quite ready
Is CPF 3 BetaCurrently Stable?

OD

Is this the last Beta Version before the Release Candidates are released?

Thanks!   (L)

CFP still needs a long time to be initalized , when it is being initalized , it can't protect system . But the training mode works much earlier .

Please post your methodology I tested Ping from a remote PC and CFP 3 Blocked 100% of the Pings From boot-up
However I did find that a global rule are not always applied on incoming packets .  I created a global blck all icmp with a remote computer constently pinging[/s] (ping -t).
I notice othe problems I will post complete methodology later

OD

EDIT: Strike out Added

Conlusions
The fire wall is active before the internet card drivers are loaded
With a rule to block ICMP no ICMP is allowed to pass at any point before during or after the boot process
If you disable the firewall it is necessary to at least completely exit the firewall by right clicking on it in Systray and restart from the shortcut in the start menu or some other manner. Just putting the firwall bake in Custom Policy Mode does not ractivate the rule set (Posted as a bug)
Moved  fire wall to Disabled - Pings Passed
Moved Firewall setting to Custom Policy Mode - Pings Passed
Moved Firewall setting to Block All Mode - Pings Failed
Moved Firewall setting to Back Custom Policy Mode - Pings Passed (this is a bug)
the rules should have been   applied as soon as I returned the fire wall to Custom Policy Mode
Exited Firewall by right clicking in Systray Pings continued to Pass
Restarted Firewall through Shortcut in start menu Pings Failed
Exited Firewall by right clicking in Systray Pings continued to Fail

CFP still needs a long time to be initalized , when it is being initalized , it can't protect system . But the training mode works much earlier .

This release of Comodo installed without any issues for me.  But in system status it says

"The network firewall is not functioning properly"
"Please run diagnostics utility to fix the problem"

When I try to run the utility I get a critical error that says

"Failed to start the diagnostics:  Please make sure CFPconfig.exe is in the same path"

Will you please post in the relevant "bug reporting thread" - either 32 or 64-bit.  Provide information regarding operating system, etc, as per the instruction posts in those threads (links are in the first post in this thread).
