I started to use v3 beta at last week.

First of all, it seems very nice and strong. Some problems that I have reported (like heavy HDD activity) are resolved. I am pleased to see this.

However, I have noticed 2 problems:

1- I have experienced with 2 BSODs when I was working in "Computer Security Policy" page (System healted). My computer is very healthy and these BSODs were the first for me!

2- While "Active Connections" window is open, I want to watch a connection that is placed in bottom but page is refreshed oftenly. Then I am in top again! This is an annoyance.

KUTGW, Thanks.

FTP Policy problem report + correction.

Description:
In passive mode, ftp client sends to the server on a port specified by the server in reply to the PASV command. The current rules in the ftp policy block outgoing trafic on this (server defined) port.
For example, the LIST command does not work on some clients (like FileZilla) in the passive mode.

Solution:
The following list of rules solves this problem, by adding TCP out to any port:
1. Allow outgoing TCP (replaces "Allow Outgoing FTP Connection Requests"):
Allow TCP OUT from source ANY to destination ANY on source port ANY and destination port ANY.
2. Allow Incoming FTP-DATA Requests
  No change:
Allow TCP IN from source ANY to destination ANY on source port ANY and destination port 20.
3. Allow Outgoing DNS Requests
  No change:
Allow UDP OUT from source ANY to destination ANY on source port ANY and destination port 53.
4. Block and Log All Unmatching Requests
  No change:
Block IP IN/OUT from source ANY to destination ANY where IP protocol is ANY.

 (V) It does well after install, BUT it makes INTER Dual Core T2060 processor to work all the time, making annoying noise and sometimes hangs Aero for 2-5 seconds.

I've search the forum and couldn't find anything about my problem with the beta. It installed fine, and after the first reboot,I got the error message .

I did reinstall and kept getting the same error. I've tried to install in the safe mode and still got the same error message. I had to uninstall the beta cuz it wouldn't start and also block my internet connection. Actually,I got the error since beta 1. The old version of 2.4 is working without any problems.
Can someone tell me how to fix it please?I really wanna try the new version.thanks.

fltlib.dll - Minifilter management is a Microsoft system dll. If that file is not on your pc you'll have to download it from internet or reinstall windows.

Error 108: Could not complete update process

I have been getting lately this error (Win XP SP2).
I tried allowing all trafic, but still got the same error, so I wonder if this is a problem on the server side (does anyone else experience this problem)?
I think that previously I had a response of "no updates available", e.g., no error.

You are more lucky than me Grin I receive access violation errors most of the time. Anyway there is no update to download so that's why you have that error.

<< Error 108: Could not complete update process -- Gibran's reply

Your reply at least makes me think that this is not a configuration problem at my site.
The error message is not specific enough and should be replaced (will be in the release version, maybe, hopefully?) by something specific (no update/cannot connect to the server/.../).

My guess is that the updater cannot complete the first step of the update process.
It actually connect to the server but don't find the file listing all updated files.

Anyway I  still have  to find why I have access violation errors.
I hope these will go away when the updates will be in place. Smiley

I usually receive 3 errors in a row with XP sp2 32bit + Avast + IE proxy set to 127.0.0.1:12080 (disabling AV and proxy doesn't remove this issue)
