Hello everybody,
since there are lot's of complains about Comodo GUI speed and I'm also the one who experience very slow respond from Comodo, I start looking for reasons.
I used nice little utility called filemon and maybe I found the reason. It seems that proces cfp.exe keep continously accesing some dll files. In my case it is
C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\GameHook.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\MSCTF.dll

Within few seconds I had 40 000+ events in filemon. Since GameHook.dll belong to Logitech SetPoint aplication I tried to close this application. Improvment in GUI speed of Comodo was great, it was still not as fast as I would like it but much better. Second dll is microsoft Text Service Module, I'm not sure if this can be killed. Anyway it seems to me that Comodo have some problem when interacting with these dll files which slow down gui significantly. Question is if Comodo team will do something about it. I definately hope so.

See entries from filemon below

Thanks
Best regards

Jerry

P.S. I'm running WinXP 32bit fully patched, NOD32

Hi all
I would like to confirm that problem with slow-down of GUI with third-party software (Logitech) is resolved in  version 3.0.20.320.
But the GUI still keep hammering the Microsoft MSCTF.dll library. Not all the time but just when mouse cursor is placed over any CFP menu or button. Just placing mouse cursor over menu start continous MSCTF.dll hammering in unbelievable way (2000 entries in Filemon per second). Is that normal???
Even GUI speed improved after problem with Logitech was solved I still consider CFP GUI slow (as long as I can see overdrawing of GUI parts it is slow)

Best regards
Jerry

Is a way to add a rule to prevent cfp.exe from calling msctf.dll?

I did a test &  I can confirm that withought msctf.dll the GUI works OK but Windows needs this file to run  language bar.
I hope the CFP team with fix that on the next update or give comment.
