Hi, I've installed AVG 8 and the same bug occurs with it. It is even worse than with Foxit because AVG every few minutes is trying to execute sth and i can't create rules for this. Will have to go back to avira.

Version 3.0.24.368. Bug still occurs. It only occurs when after the system reboot I have opened some PDF through Firefox (when i create rule a new rule with shortened path is added to rule list).

Did you open some PDF after system reboot through Firefox (open with) by Foxit? It's the most annying bug for me. Do you have Paranoid Mode on?

No I don't feel the need for Paranoid mode and yes O read PDF with Firefox all the time. PDF's  download then when done Foxit opens up. Is Foxit a trusted app in both the firewall and D+?

I didn't say trusted vendors. I said trusted in D+. Go to D+\Advanced\Computer Security Policy.

You mean if I added it to rules list with rule set to "Trusted application"? I have changed the name of that rule to some another but yes i did. Still bugged.

It just doesn't remember if any rule was set for Foxit. Just as at everytime it was deployed first time :/

If I gets pissed off by this bug I'll reinstall windows and check out if it still is. I know childish but many times worked. This is Windows :/

No need to do that. Are you using the latest version of Foxit reader. I havent had to reinstall Windows in like 4 years or so.

Yea i got Firefox 2.0.14, full Windows update, newest Foxit. When you delete Foxit rule, open PDF through FF and, defense+ pop-up appers and u add  rule to rule set you got shortened path to executable? It just does not see the rule for foxit although it is there.

Reinstalled windows. Bug still occurs. First boot of windows with CFP, creating rule for foxit and everything works fine (the rule with long names path C:\Program Files\Foxit\Reader\Foxit Reader.exe). After reboot and again opening foxit through firefox again pop-up appears and a new rule is added (with shortened path names like C:\Progra~1\Foxit\Reader\Foxit Reader.exe and yes, only "program files" is shortened) but both rules are not working. No idea why it happens. No frakken idea. Maybe its because I have polish firefox and maybe only this version open programs with shortened path? PLZ HELP! Anyone else have same problem?

New notice. When i open foxit through explorer it has command line like this:

C:\Program Files\Foxit\Reader\Foxit Reader.exe

and a new rule is added for

C:\Program Files\Foxit\Reader\Foxit Reader.exe

and when i open foxit through firefox the command line is:

C:\Progra~1\Foxit\Reader\Foxitr~1.exe

and a new rule is added for

C:\Progra~1\Foxit\Reader\Foxit Reader.exe

(so not fully shortened). Maybe its because of this?

Vette can u plz tell me what executable path is beeing added to your rule set? Can you rewrite it plz?

EDIT: Can you tell me where Defense+ is keeping its' settings? It's not "HKLM\System\Software\Comodo\Firewall Pro\Configurations\0\HIPS\Policy\*" because when i turn off the GUI those entries disappears.

I honestly dont know why your having problems with Foxit Reader. All I do is click on a PDF file in Firefox or Internet Explorer. Then it downloads and opens. Presto.I have no specific rule set.

It was NOT about firewall but about D+ module. Foxit doesn't need internet connection to open PDF through FF. Are u at paranoid mode? If not delete all your previous rules about foxit, switch to paranoid, reboot and then try to open PDF through FF and make a rule for opening foxit at D+. Close Foxit and try to open it again (no need to open through FF).

I got similar behaviur (not remembering rule) with Free Download manager and Comodo Firewall. It always asks me to allow it to connect to internet. But only once per each FDM program run (after shutting down FDM and again starting it to download sth it asks me again the same question. But as i said it does it only once at the program start when it wants to connect somewhere).
