We'd very much appreciate it if you would follow the guidelines below

If you do your report will be in full standard format, and will be forwarded to the format verified issues board. Devs fix issue reports in standard format more quickly & reliably as the info needed to replicate the bug is available & easily accessible. If you don't that's ok (we realise people may not have the time). We'll forward it to non format reports. Devs may still look at you bug & may fix it if they can replicate it, but it may take longer.

Before you post, please check

When you post please:
  • Use the report format below.
  • Record ALL information items in the format, except, those preceded by 'if or 'any'.

To use the main format:
1. Copy Format between dotted lines
2. Create new topic and paste format into it
3. Fill in format, typing after colons
4. Please remember to summarise the bug in the topic subject

Red words are links to help

A. THE BUG/ISSUE (Varies from issue to issue)
  • Summary: Pls give a clear summary in the topic subject, NOT here.
  • Can U reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?: Random, but happens about every second boot
  • If U can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened:
    a. Rebooted
    b. Opened Killswitch from Advanced tasks ~ Watch activity
    c. Noted Routerstats.exe running Rating=Unknown, Restriction=Disabled
  • If not obvious, what U expected to happen: Given Routerstats is unknown, restriction should be partially limited.
  • If a software compatibility problem have U tried the conflict FAQ?:
  • Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version: Routerstats.exe version 6.8e
  • Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how U tried to fix it etc: Possibly due to high machine load on boot as seems more likely to occur on first reboot after any complex software installation
  • Always attach: Diagnostics file, Watch Activity process list, (dump if freeze/crash). If complex: CIS logs & config, screenshots, video, zipped program (not malware).

B. YOUR SETUP (Likely the same for each issue, so you can copy forward)
  • Exact CIS version & configuration: CIS 6.0 Build 2674, Proactive
  • Modules enabled & level. D+/HIPS, Autosandbox/BBlocker, Firewall, & AV: All, HIPS=safe, BBlocker=Partially limited, Firewall=Safe, AV=cloud is on
  • Have U made any other changes to the default config? (egs here.): No
  • Have U updated (without uninstall) from CIS 5: No
    • if so, have U tried a a clean reinstall - if not please do?:
  • Have U imported a config from a previous version of CIS: No
    • if so, have U tried a standard config - if not please do:
  • OS version, SP, 32/64 bit, UAC setting, account type, & virtual machine used: Windows 7, SP1, 64bit, UAC=off, admin, VM not used
  • Other security/sandbox software a) currently installed b) installed since OS: a) None b) None

Help and GUI-only issue reports do not need to be in the standard format, but we would be very grateful if you would:

a) Summarize the bug in the topic title

b) Include the following information if it's a GUI bug:
  • CIS version:
  • OS version:
  • What you did:
  • What you actually saw:
  • What you expected to happen or see:
  • A screenshot illustrating to GUI problem

c) Include the following information if its a help file bug
  • A link to the relevant help file page, if any
  • What the help files says on the issue of concern (if anything)
  • What you think it should say or explain
  • Why you think it should say or explain that
