Thx a lot for the advice...
I use Firefox 2.0.0.12 to surf the web...
which one is better? Firefox/Opera?
Should I really use Spyware Terminator and Spybot S&D?
I once installed Spybot and don't like it 'coz it took 'bout 30 secs to load it...nn;
Btw, does anyone know an antivirus called PCMAV? It is made in Indonesia... Quite useful I think... It repairs registry changes that was made by viruses like Brontox and cleans the viruses...

I am new to Comodo forum. I have an HP dv9727us with a 32 bit vista premium operating system. I dowonloaded Comodo and the tried to add PCShield Deluxe. It appears PCShield is not compatible. My requests are as follows: First confirm that Comodo (new version) is compatible with 32 bit vista premium (it certainly appears to be!) Secondly, please let me know what anti-virus packages are recommended and compatible with 32 vit vista premium and Comodo. Thanks Melih and other Comodo staff, for your kind help and support.

Reply: ST has many options, and works as it should (until this mom)...
Spybot had a major update last week or so, now it loads rather fast again
and, sorry, concerning ST: i was talking about the Web Security Guard, of course... sorry it was late
and, no, I don't think it's a reasonable idea to install the additional ClamAv scanner, it's way too slow by now, not yet in any way reliable (small database, hence seldomly FP's though....) and doesn't offer a real-time shield...
Reason why I still do recommend Spybot SD? well, it's immunizing database is still very impressing and needs no "memory cache" (i.e. passive mode, comparable to javacool's SpywareBlaster, but way more effective and covering all three of them very known browsers....)
Cheers

I second that! Spybot S&D,after it's last very slow to load incarnation has,with the latest version,speeded up no end.

Thx for the reply.....
Btw, is there a file named Restart.exe in C:/Windows/system32/Tools ?
Avira detected it as a file that has similiarity with SPR/Destart.A....
Googled it and decided to delete the folder in normal mode (should be in safe mode)x_x....
Haven't found any problem
yet
though...nn;
Computer security is a tough thing to take care, IMHO....

You're not even supposted to have a Tools-directory in system32, so it certainly is a malware!

Hmm.. Okay. I'm using an ancient motherboard, so it installs the drivers in \system32.

Distributed Transaction Coordinator is a normal 2k/xp service.
It is useful only in peculiar circumstances when working with databases and you can always desactivate the service if you don't use it.

Firefox is supposed, inside windows systems, to connect to itself: localhost at 127.0.0.1.
You can make a rule to allow firefox to do whatever it wants as long as the destination ip stays to be yourself (127.0.0.1).

Mplayer is a safe,open source media player,so there's nothing to be concerned about regarding it loading this direct input component.It's merely in order to add multimedia functionality for certain devices.It isn't a crucial component so blocking it won't be an issue.

Please ask further similar questions in the relevant section (CPF firewall 3.0) if you don't want some moderator to throw you out.
As for your last quetion, YOU are the one to know the answer.
If you opened some Excel file from your disk and if it contains some hyperlink, macro, or scripting ressource, the question for a connexion from explorer to the ip where this ressources resides, tcp out, http (80) or https (443) is as legitimate then the simultaneous dns query, udp out port 53, for what i suppose to be the dns of your isp.
I remind you that Excel has on option to ask or deny before to execute any macro or script.
