I'll try some of those programs out. I was wondering does security apps causes my online games to lag?

My laptop is like a week old now and I have these programs installed:

CPF3
Spyware Doctor 5.5
Comodo BOClean 4.25
Windows Defender
Nod 32 3.0

I'm using Windows Vista Home 32bit... I would like to hear about your opinions with those programs and what other security stuff can you recommend?
Whats a good root-kit scanner for vista?

You can find a comprehensive list of anti-rootkit tools here:

But no, i do not have any proof besides it looking like in Avast 5 they will have heuristics which would mean better detection rates.....  Thumb Up

Normally ... they shouldn't. Only bad installations, false configurations, ...

But as I see your security in your previous posts, I think only spyware doctor will slow it down a bit  Cheesy.

Spyware Doctor 5.5 has Rootkit scanning and detection capabilities. Go to "OnGuard" and enable "Process Guard ", go to "Settings" and then "Scan Settings" and check mark "Scan for rootkit hidden files" I personally like and have no complaints with SD 5.5. Thumb Up  Also running CFP+D, Verification Engine, and the latest AVIRA AntiVir Premium which I took advantage of the 6 month lic. I dumped BoClean due to the problems I encountered and in it's place I'm running ThreatFire.   Cheers

I'm fairly sure that Defence+ covers everything that Winpatrol does so there's no need for both . Cheers
