Do I need a separate anti-spyware app?

I'm currently running:

CPF 3
CMF
CBoClean
Avast

Eric - I personally think that people can strengthen their defenses even more, every easily by using the NoScript add on for firefox. Blocks all java, javascript, flash, Iframes, lots of good stuff.

Every day I use it, I love firefox more and more. Ive been using it for maybe 6 months, its great.

A new toy I just got for it - DownloadHelper add on, lets you download flv. video files from youtube.

I like.

High five!

I'm channeling Borat.

I get a step, he must get a step. I get a window from a glass, he must get a window from a glass. I get clock radio, he cannot afford. Great success!

Yea, I would at least recommend an on demand antispyware scanner.

Hey LirvA keep in mind that No Script involves 100% user intervention. I use to use it but couldn't stand that constant pop ups and allowing of every page I looked at. So if a newbie allows all pages then it defeats the purpose of No Script. I browse using Firefox with Ad Blocker Plus and I run Avira Premium 8 with web guard and Comodo 3.0 of course. When I slip to the dark side of the net I simply Sandbox everything then dump the sandbox when I am done leaving no traces of anything. I also scan once a week with SAS. No infection in over 5 years. Alot of common sense has a role also. Never ever download or install anything you do not know.

You should be fine for normal web use.If you're undertaking more risky activities such as warez etc then a sandbox or system virtualization, such as Returnil will do the trick.

Cheers for all your replies. I'll look into sandboxing etc... I've since installed SAS as an on-demand and spybot for the immunization.

Yea Vettetech, I agree that NoScript requires alot of user input, but I think its a must have add on. I just keep everything blocked, every site, and if one I trust isnt working properly then I'll temporarily allow it.

I got hooked up with the Avira premium free until October, I used it for a few days and just didnt like it at all. I just uninstalled it and reinstalled AVG free. Just wasnt my cup of tea.

What do you use to sandbox? Is that a complicated thing?

Sandoxie is very easy to use. Thats odd about Avira. I find it to be the best av I ever used. Very light and I like the web scanner. No slow downs. I also set the updater to invisible so updates don't bother me. Here is a link for Sabndboxie. After installing it it is set into your explorer. Simply right click on Firefox and run Sandboxed. I also set CCleaner to custom folders and have it emplty the sandbox when I am done.

Today i formated my PC, well, i use NOrton Ghost and i have got a back up file with a fresh install(only all Win updates, all drivers and Office). I only installed AVAST AV, CFP, CMF, Win Patrol and ST. Right now i installed Arovax AS and scaned my system and found:

Are entries of:
-A simple entry of IE7
-Activeskin is an entry of AVAST interface

And you can see the last update of this program(included database is:

I use Arovax and I have no problems. Perhaps you should pay more attention to the directory of the threat was located first.

If you like that old fashioned AS, use it.
And sorry, but I am not a newbi Wink Perhaps Arovax AS has got a lot of FP.
And "seven" months without an update, it's very...  Tongue

It is very common that gamespy is flagged as spyware.  Zone Alarm and several other utilities do the same.  I belive its because of their past or something, but its not just arovax that flags gamespy.
