i wanna add "threat fire" to my army Grin , but i'm afraid too many realtime protection will slow down my system even more. or should i replace one of them? what would that be? V-engine perhaps? or maybe ST? since i already have CBO & Avira?

Im paranoid too!  Dont disable spyware terminator for threat fire.  Threat fire is MEANT to run along existing software.  So ST should get a long fine.  On my laptop i dont notice a slowdown so it should be fine.

Ive come to realize that my software (other then firewall) are useless (the fact they dont block anything because i dont run into anything)  So its not as dangerous as we paranoids think.  But when i DO RARELY run into something, thank god i have protection.

Threatfire is now a product of pctools.

PCTools, whilst being a well-known company, is not among my trusted companies anymore.

their AS has become very intrusive, their firewall is a laugh.

Threatfire was better under it's old regime, and version 1 was better than version 2.

Just a thought...well...

I will not use SAS nor Threatfire again.

But it's your decision, in the end...

lots of paranoid ppl here Cheesy
thx for the suggestion to you all,
i realized that ST's HIPS need the realtime guard to be activated, so i won't disable it.
i tried threatfire yesterday, and it made the "shut down" proccess a lil bit slower.
but from all the security softwares i have, i think the most resource hungry is AV, i feel my computer is very fast after uninstalling CAVS & before installing avira. well,a sacrifice for security.

Hi Ganda, yours truly, but I don't trust PCTools (known for their Doctor...)

If combining your proggies with thought, you'll not ever need Spyware Doctor.
Better to stay clean from that company. Just a thought.

I've been testing SD for years, again and again, and it's detection was so-so, whilst getting really many FPs,  you could as well try "Malware Destroyer" by emco.is

I promise Malware Destroyer will at least find ONE bad file or entry on your PC. You can even allow the prog to get rid of that malware. No problem.

Same with Spyware Doctor.

All you need is a good firewall, a good hips, a good AS shield...., a reliable at scanner...

and some other goodies.

Keeping Spyware Doctor will not make your machine more secure.

But....enough...I don't want to bash a company here.

Do what thou wilt.

and where can we get it?
i doubt it will find a bad file/entry on my super holy clean PC Grin . yesterday i tried PREV-X CSI free to  scan my system, and it didn't find anything bad.

I think spy sweeper (and webroot in general) is a superior company to pc tools.

Back on the subject of GData.

It performs well because it is a Multi-Scanning Engine Antivirus. It uses I think 2 antivirus scanners at once. I think one of them might have been Bit Defender and the other one something else.

I'm sticking with Avira Antivir PE Premium though it could do with a serious improvement of it's Mail Guard. It's ranked 2nd in recent tests!
