I downloaded a free copy of CIS about a week ago and the virus database has been updated about 26 times in 5 days, is this accurate, or does my copy of CIS have a bug in in somewhere?

Also, I get several warnings about a Heur.<something> virus, even in the recovery partion provided by my P.C's manufacturer and I'm unsure whether to quarantine, delete or ignore the relevant files.

Welcome to the forum Kiwirobot Smiley

That should be about right at five\six a day, though I have never counted.

Regarding the Heur virus alerts please post here and follow the instructions here
