Yes, it's called a design flaw. The balloons were meant to stay there until the user clicked them so if the user left their PC and came back, they would know CIS was updated. I'm guessing the developers forgot that hourly updates would start rolling in.... Undecided
But we don't care to see that the VD has been updated.  If we wanted to know we'd look.  Why does every vendor think that their program is the only one in the world?  There is no circumstance that I'd EVER want to see a message such as this.

I don't know, but I too, think there should have been an option to disable update pop ups in the first place.

How do I stop internet security from keep telling me that the virus database has been updated.  I want it to be updated without telling me every time it does.

Thanks

Doron

Currently they can't be disabled. Please see here

For some stupid reason, my antivirus is constantly updating the virus database.. at least 4-6 times per night.. I constantly get balloon updates even after disabling them and cmdagent is getting to upwards of 250+mb in resources..

using 3.9.95478

virus database 1521

The popup problem is going to be fixed with the upcomming CIS 3.10, and i think the RAM usage will also go down.

Wait the RAM problem, its only when updating the AV? If so you dont need a reinstall.
Early this month is the most likely date.

With all due respect, the AV updater problem should have been a showstopper - how did it get past testing?

Thanks for the reminder, with 3.10 I haven't had an update alert all day.
