Now try to put that folder on the exclusion list and test again to see if it will finish...
Maybe it's all of them maybe it's only one...

BTW, each new scan requires a reboot - when I attempt a second scan after a previously hung scan, I get a message saying that the scanner is 'currently busy'.

Back in a few mins.

I have just started to have the same problem. I have now disabled scan on start, which seems to have fixed it. the PC hangs up whislt scanning sytem files. Powering off is the only choice. This is the 64 bit version on 64 bit Vista home premium.

Hi Vunox,

Can you follow the same procedure to see if we can pin-point this issue to specific files, look up a few post above where we started ?

OK - I excluded the first angel.inf folder. The scan hung on the second folder - angel2.inf

I will exclude this one as well and run another scan.

Seems like you have a perfectly reproducible issue here, I'll see if i can draw some Dev attention here, are you willing to do a remote session with them if they need to troubleshoot on your system ?

Sure.

Its 2150 here - I will only be here for a short while longer. If this is no good to the devs, I will make myself available tomorrow.

Oh i don't think they'll drop in today, i guess they will contact you if needed, no guarantee what so ever...
I can only try  Wink

For now i would put the whole \driverstore\filerepository in exclude and see if a full "My computer" scan finishes at it should.

I can scan these files with no problem so there must be a combination of these files and something else on your system, do you have any other security software installed doesn't matter if it's real-time or passive ?
