Ive tried many info and only had problems with Arovax. Gamespy has been around for over 5 years and has never been spyware. Its how you play certain games online.

I know I used to have it, at least 5 years ago. The client has been considered spyware or grayware, its not malicious but I personally think its shady software. Also, when gamespy isn't installed but there are registry entries, they rewrite themselves.

in gamespy most of software flags one component which is related to ADs system ... it's hard to say if it's spyware or just adware

I disagree with Spybot and Spyware Doctor. I use SuperAntiSpyware and now Malware Bytes Anti Malware. Both of them are very good.

Just download. MBAM is actually free Eric. If you don't register you just get on-demand scanning. Yeah it's not very clear. Also some download sites list is as shareware.

Yes, I went to get it after reading this thread and there didn't seem to be any mention of 'free'. I decided to try it anyway and that was when I found out that it's free as installed. Some other apps. are like tis: difficult to find the free version.

Just tried Spycatcher Express. It seems to slow down the opening of apps. by a few seconds. Did a full scan; got 6 or 7 detections, but wasn't told what they were or located! I'd hate to delete or quarantine items without more information.
